Here we go again on the admin rollercoster

Has anyone else had the ride from hell with the admin of their builders??

Well after our builder FORGOT to put several documents in with our council application which was put to a stop because it took another 7 days to raise these documents, one of which matt actually got and done himself and the so called landscaping plan we paid $550 was MISSING it then had to go back for approval from Stockland. AFter another week of not hearing anything once again WE had to chase and fix it up with Stockland it finally went back to council and now is approved , yeah woohoo.

Until yesterday after speaking with the builder they are now saying its going to take another 6 weeks before we even turn dirt. So disappointed I just feel I want to walk away its so frustrating.

For those of you who have already started building is it true that after council approval it takes another 3 weeks for a construction certificate and then after that another 15 days to order materials before they even turn the dirt.

  2. Hi Congrats on getting council approval. Shocking that they could forget some important documents!

We had a few contract issues but all sorted now after many many phone calls. 6 weeks seems over the top to wait. In the end the Manhattan is such a lovely home with great design aspects that it will be worth it in the end.

How did you go with Kitchen/Electrical meetings.. I dread the cost of upgrades. What facade did you end up choosing for your home?

    Keep us posted!

  3. We had no end of issues with our previous builder (admin was part of it) so we are onto a new one who seem wonderful. We, like you, were so frustrated that we wanted (and did) give up and went elsewhere. But, we were confident that the previous builder could give us a nice home, the process was just painful. So, once you have the paperwork out of the way (and you're nearly there), you'll be off and racing I'm sure :)

  4. Hi Matt and Linda, from DA approval it took approx. 2 months for them to start building. It was the longest 2 months ever and very frustrating. It takes 21 days to order everything. I feel your frustration. Dont worry though, once they started things happen very quickly :)
